DroneBeacon MAVLink/DroneCAN
Remote ID transponder

DroneBeacon MAVLink/DroneCAN product family is a so-called direct or broadcast Remote ID long-range transponder that can be integrated into drone products. The products run open-source firmware (ArduRemoteID) and provides a so-called standard Remote ID solution. The products are designed for drone manufacturers, system integrators or DIY enthusiasts.  It is compliant with the (upcoming) international standards and has a FCC/CE approved radio module. Furthermore, the transponder is optimized for long range due to its transmit power.

Products

  • db201

the best choice for most users. Specifications

  • db202mav

a cost effective solution with one MAVLink port. Specifications

  • db203can

db203can: a cost effective solution with one DroneCAN port. Specifications

  • db210pro

Open source

The module runs the open source ArduRemoteID firmware and we are part of the development team. It means that you can flash newer firmware releases using the webinterface. Remote ID and this module are supported by ArduPilot since version 4.x. (Check the ArduPilot project to use the correct software version.) Support for PX4 is in progress.

standard Remote ID vs Remote ID broadcast module

In the USA, the FAA defined two Remote ID product classes: a) standard Remote ID and b) Remote ID broadcast module.

Standard Remote ID products communicate with the flight controller and allow to fly BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight). A second advantage is that the pilot can view the Remote ID status in flight control software such as Mission Planner or QGroundControl. On the other hand, Remote ID broadcast module are stand-alone products and are only allowed for VLOS flight (Visual Line of Sight).

The DroneBeacon MAVLink/DroneCAN product family is a standard Remote ID solution.

Certified manufacturing

The DroneBeacon MAVLink/DroneCAN product family are produced with high quality and environmental standards:

FAA ready

For the USA market, manufacturers must begin producing UAS with built-in standard RID starting December 16, 2022. Our module is FAA ready and we can support you with the DoC (Declartion of Compliance) submission.
